How to convert to PNG

When PNG is the right format
PNG works well for logos, screenshots, interface graphics and artwork that already has transparent areas. Use this converter when an app or website requires a .png file. It also gives you a widely supported still image from formats such as HEIC or AVIF.

How do I convert an image to PNG?

Does converting JPG to PNG make the background transparent?
The converter preserves transparent areas already present in the source. A JPG’s existing white or colored background stays part of the image. To make a transparent cutout, prepare a source with the background removed before converting.
Will PNG conversion improve a blurry photo?
PNG preserves the displayed pixels, including any existing blur or JPEG artifacts. Start with the clearest original available; changing the file format preserves the current image rather than restoring lost detail.
Why is my PNG bigger than the original?
PNG often takes more space than JPG, WebP or AVIF for photos. It can remain larger after lossless optimization. The original and actual PNG file sizes are shown together so you can check whether the result fits your needs.
Which files are supported?
Use JPG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, PSD, PNG or supported camera RAW files. A batch can contain up to 100 images, with a 100 MB limit per image. A damaged or unsupported file does not stop the other images.
What happens to animated, layered or multipage files?
Each file produces one still PNG: the first animation frame, the first TIFF page, or the flattened PSD image. Keep the original project or camera file if you want to continue editing its layers or developing the photo.
Are my images uploaded, and can I use this on my phone?
Images and ZIP files are processed in your browser without uploading them. Use a current desktop or mobile browser; large files depend on available device memory. Clear all or refresh the page to start a new session.
Can I choose the PNG dimensions when converting an SVG?
Yes. Once the SVG is loaded, open SVG output dimensions and enter a width or height. The other side follows the source aspect ratio. Original dimensions restores the dimensions read from the SVG. Raster photos and screenshots retain their original pixel dimensions.
