Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ImageNow handles information when you use our free image tools and our AI features. The two work differently: free tools keep your files on your device, while AI features upload the image you choose so our servers can process it.

Free tools: your files stay on your device

The free ImageNow tools, such as compressing, converting, resizing and cropping images, process files locally in your browser. The images you select and the files these tools create are not uploaded to ImageNow servers. The tool's working session ends when you close or refresh the page; your original files and any results you have downloaded remain on your device.

Free tools can be used without creating an account or providing payment details.

AI features: uploads and server processing

AI features, such as AI background removal, run on our servers. Their pages say so beside the upload control before you choose a file. When you use an AI feature:

  • Upload and processing — the image you choose is uploaded to our storage and sent to WaveSpeed, which runs the BRIA background-removal model. We store the processed result so you can preview and download it.
  • Storage period — ImageNow deletes its stored copies of your uploads and results after the storage period shown beside the upload control. Each file receives its own deletion deadline when it is stored. Download any result you want to keep before then; copies on your own device remain under your control.
  • Private access — only your account, or the browser you used for an anonymous trial, can open your uploads and results. A file address on its own does not grant access.
  • Supplier copies — WaveSpeed can keep its own temporary copies under its data retention policy, which generally keeps generated outputs for up to seven days and allows legal, security and billing exceptions. ImageNow's storage period applies to our own copies.

Accounts, trials and payments

You can try an AI feature without an account, within the trial limits shown on its page. An account is needed for more processing and for purchases.

  • Accounts — an account contains the details you provide or that your sign-in provider shares, such as your name, email address and profile image, together with sign-in records, credit balances and processing tasks. Authentication cookies keep you signed in. Verification and password reset emails are sent to the address on the account.
  • Anonymous trials — the necessary HttpOnly _trial cookie holds a signed trial identifier for up to 30 days. It applies trial limits, shows task status and protects access to the trial's private files. We also use network-derived identifiers and task records to limit trial abuse.
  • Payments — when purchases are available, the payment provider handles your payment details. ImageNow keeps order amounts, currency, provider references, and payment, credit and subscription status.

Account, security and billing records are kept as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. They are not deleted when an image reaches its storage deadline.

Sign in with Google

If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your name, email address, email verification status, profile picture and Google account identifier with ImageNow. We use these details to create or find your account, authenticate you and set up your account profile. We request only basic identity permissions (openid, email and profile), without access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files or contacts.

Google account details and sign-in records are stored in ImageNow's database hosted by Cloudflare. Account records can also include authentication tokens returned by Google, with their permissions and expiry details. These records follow the account retention rules above, rather than the storage deadline for uploaded images.

You can remove ImageNow's Google permission at any time in your Google Account connections. Removing that permission stops future access through that Google authorization; it does not automatically end an existing ImageNow session or delete your ImageNow account and records already stored. Sign out of ImageNow separately to end your current session. To request access, correction or deletion of your ImageNow account data, email support@imagenow.net. We may verify the request and retain records needed for security, disputes or legal obligations.

Website requests and support messages

The following information is involved in visiting the website or contacting us:

  • Technical request data — when your browser requests a page, the hosting service receives information such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time. This information may appear in hosting and security logs.
  • Messages you send us — if you contact us by email, your email address and the contents of your message are used to handle your request.

How we use information

We use this information to deliver the website and its features, process the images you send to AI features, run accounts, credits and purchases, keep the service secure, diagnose errors, and respond to messages you send us.

Website analytics

Google Analytics 4 runs on the free-tool pages. We use it to understand which pages people visit, how they find ImageNow, and how the website is used. Google receives information such as the page address and title, referring website, browser and device details, visit times, and cookie identifiers. Your browser also sends Google its IP address as part of the connection; Google uses it to derive approximate location information.

ImageNow also runs its own first-party analytics on every page; AI pages use it instead of Google Analytics. It helps us understand which tools people use, whether they start and finish a task, create an account or purchase credits, and records page paths, referring websites, campaign identifiers, approximate country, browser and device categories, which site links are clicked, and allowed usage details such as file format, file count, approximate file size range, processing time, and success or failure. It does not record file names or image contents.

Neither service receives your images, image contents, or the names of files you select or download. We remove URL query strings and fragments from the page and referrer addresses we send.

Cookies and your choices

  • Google Analytics — first-party cookies named imagenow_ga and imagenow_ga_TB65D8Q8LZ distinguish visits and sessions for up to 180 days. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.
  • First-party analytics — the HttpOnly _aid cookie identifies an analytics visitor for up to 13 months, and a tab session stored as _analytics_session starts again after 30 minutes without tracked activity. Analytics records have a 13-month retention policy.
  • Necessary cookies — sign-in, trial and private-file access cookies are needed for those features to work, and a PARAGLIDE_LOCALE cookie remembers the language you use on the site. They are not affected by analytics choices.

You can turn off ImageNow's first-party analytics in this browser below. The _aoo cookie remembers that choice for up to 13 months. Turning it off stops new collection from this browser; it does not delete records already collected or change Google Analytics.

You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser settings. Removing sign-in or trial cookies can end your session or prevent access to an anonymous trial's private files. These controls do not erase information already sent to Google.

Service providers and retention

Cloudflare hosts ImageNow and provides its database, file storage, email delivery and website security. Its performance monitoring measures page-load times and browser performance to help diagnose delivery problems, without using analytics cookies. WaveSpeed processes the images you send to AI features. Google processes the analytics data described above, and your Google account details if you choose Google sign-in. Configured payment providers handle the purchases you make. These providers may process information outside your country. We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for operations, security, legal obligations, or the purpose for which it was collected. Files processed locally by the free tools are not retained by ImageNow.

Your choices and rights

You choose which details to include in a support message. A tool URL, browser, file format and size, and a description of the problem are useful starting points; keep private images on your device unless we need one to investigate. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information. Send privacy requests to support@imagenow.net with the account or task details needed to locate the records. We may need to verify that a request concerns your account or files.
