How to edit a photo online

Brightness, Exposure, Highlights and Shadows
Exposure brightens or darkens the whole photo evenly, much like a camera setting. Brightness works mainly on the midtones and keeps pure black and pure white in place. Lower Highlights to tone down a bright sky or a white dress so its detail shows, and raise Shadows to see faces in a backlit photo. Contrast sets how strongly light and dark areas stand apart.
Fix a color cast
Photos taken under indoor lights often look yellow or orange. Move Temperature toward blue to neutralize the cast, or toward yellow to warm up a cold daylight scene. Tint corrects the green or magenta tinge some fluorescent and LED lights leave. Saturation makes every color stronger or softer; at its lowest setting the photo turns black and white.
Filters with a strength control
Filters work on top of your adjustments. Each thumbnail shows the filter on your own picture, so you can compare looks before choosing one. A filter starts at full strength; lower the strength to blend it with your photo. Sharpen and Vignette sit in Adjust, so they combine with any filter.
Crop for posts and prints
Free lets you drag any shape. A 1:1 square suits profile pictures, 4:5 is a common portrait shape for feed posts, 9:16 fills a phone screen, and 2:3 or 3:2 matches 4 × 6 prints. Width and height show the exact pixels you keep. When you turn the photo, the crop turns with it and keeps the same part of the picture.
Full-resolution downloads in JPG, PNG or WebP
The preview is scaled to fit your screen, but the download is processed at the photo’s full pixel size, or at the size of your crop. JPG suits photos you share or print, PNG keeps transparent areas and exact pixels, and WebP makes smaller files for websites. The download is a new file: photos your camera stored sideways are saved upright, and camera details such as location are left out. To make the file smaller or change its dimensions afterward, use the image compressor or the image resizer.

Will editing lower my photo’s resolution?
The download keeps your photo’s width and height in pixels. If you crop, it keeps every pixel inside the crop. Only the on-screen preview is scaled down to fit your display.
How do I brighten a dark photo without washing it out?
Raise Shadows first to open up the dark areas, then add a little Exposure or Brightness. If the sky or other bright areas lose detail, lower Highlights. Hold Original to compare with where you started.
How do I add text to a photo?
Open Text and select Add text. Type your words, then choose the font style, color and size. Drag the text on the photo to place it, and use the round handles to resize or rotate it. Shadow or Background keeps text readable on a busy picture. You can add several text boxes.
Can I undo an edit or compare with the original?
Yes. Undo and Redo step through your changes, also with Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z (Command on a Mac), and Reset all returns to the photo you opened. Press and hold Original to see the photo before your edits, or click it to keep the original on screen.
Which format should I download?
Choose JPG for photos you share or print. Choose PNG to keep transparent areas or exact pixels, and WebP for smaller files on a website. JPG fills transparent areas with white.
Will my photo have a watermark?
The download contains only your photo and the edits, text and frame you added.
Is my photo uploaded or saved?
Your photo is edited in your browser and stays on your device. Refreshing or closing the page clears the editor, so download your photo when you finish.
