The image type, chosen for you
Each image is marked Auto as a logo or icon, line art or a signature, or a photo, and converted with matching settings. Switch the type whenever another one fits better.
Compare before you download
Switch between the original and the SVG, and look at both at 100% to check edges, small text and colors. The SVG's file size is shown with it, and for logos and line art its number of colors.
Stays on your device
Your browser turns the image into an SVG on your computer or phone. The image is never uploaded, and there is no account to create.
PNG to SVG for logos and icons
Logos, icons, clip art and flat illustrations become filled shapes in their own colors, and transparent areas stay transparent. The cleanest SVG comes from a large, sharp PNG or JPG of the logo. Fine keeps small details such as thin lines and dots, and adds steps of color where the logo has gradients. Simple smooths the outlines and makes a lighter file.
Line art and signatures with a transparent background
Line art / signature turns the marks of a drawing, a scanned sketch, handwriting or a photographed signature into black shapes, and the paper becomes transparent. The SVG can then be placed on a document, a design or a product without a white box around it. Light pencil drawings are picked up as well. To keep colored lines in their colors, choose Logo / icon instead.
Photos as poster-style vector art
A photo becomes areas of flat color, like a screen print or a poster. Fine texture and soft focus are simplified, and smooth shading turns into bands of color. Fine keeps more colors and shapes; Simple gives a bolder look and a lighter file. When a picture has to look exactly like the photo, keep it as a JPG or PNG.
Getting a cleaner SVG
Start from the largest, sharpest copy of the image you have, cropped close to the logo, drawing or signature on a plain background. If the SVG shows specks or ragged edges, choose Simple; if thin lines or small text break apart, choose Fine. A very large image can run out of memory or time in the browser; the page then explains what happened and offers to retry with less detail.
What the SVG file contains
The SVG is made of filled shapes in the colors you see; its file size appears next to Download SVG, with the number of colors for logos and line art. It opens at the same width and height in pixels as your image and scales to any size without blurring, which suits printing, cutting machines, embroidery software and websites. Use PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP images up to 50 MB; an animated GIF or WebP is converted from its first frame. The file is named after your image, so logo.png downloads as logo-imagenow.svg. To turn the SVG back into a picture or a document, use SVG to PNG or SVG to PDF.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PNG to SVG?
Choose or drop your PNG above. It is converted to SVG in your browser straight away, with the image type chosen for you. Compare the SVG with the original, change the type or detail if you like, and select Download SVG. JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP images work the same way.
Which images convert best to SVG?
Logos, icons, clip art, line drawings and signatures with clear edges and a few flat colors give the cleanest SVG. A photo is simplified into areas of flat color and its gradients become bands of color, so its SVG looks like a poster of the photo.
Does it use AI to redraw my image?
No. It traces the edges and colors that are already in your image, so the same image and settings always give the same SVG. A blurry or very small image gives rough shapes, so start from the largest, sharpest copy you have.
How do I get a signature with a transparent background?
Choose Line art / signature. The lines of the signature become black shapes and the paper becomes transparent, so you can place the SVG on a document or a design. A photo of a signature works too when it is in focus, written in dark ink and fills most of the picture.
What do Simple, Standard and Fine change?
Simple smooths the outlines and leaves out the smallest specks, for a lighter file. Standard suits most images. Fine keeps smaller details and, in logos and photos, more steps of color, which makes a larger file. The file size, and for logos and line art the number of colors, update after each change, and the previous SVG stays available until the new one is ready.
Will the SVG be the same size as my image?
Yes. The SVG opens at the same width and height in pixels as your image. Because it is made of shapes, it can then be scaled up or down without blurring.
Which files can I convert?
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP images, one at a time, up to 50 MB each. An animated GIF or WebP is converted from its first frame.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Your browser converts the image to SVG on your device, so the image never leaves the page. Refreshing the page or choosing another image starts again.
How do I turn the SVG into a PNG or PDF?
Download the SVG, then open SVG to PNG for an image at the size you choose, or SVG to PDF for a document. Both work in your browser in the same way.
