Why the image you saved is a .webp
WebP is the format most sites now serve to save bandwidth, so "save image as" often hands you a file that Windows Photo Viewer, older Office versions, some CMS uploaders and plenty of design tools will not open. PNG is accepted almost everywhere, which makes it the safe landing format when something refuses your WebP.
Transparency comes through intact
A WebP with an alpha channel keeps it as a PNG: logos, stickers and cut-out product shots stay transparent, with no white box added behind them. The preview draws a checkerboard behind the result so you can see at a glance which parts are see-through.
Expect the PNG to be larger
WebP compresses far more aggressively than PNG, so the same picture usually grows on conversion — sometimes several times over. That is the format doing its job, not a fault: PNG stores pixels losslessly. If you only need the picture to open somewhere and the size matters, convert to JPG instead, or run the result through the compressor.

WebP to PNG questions
Does converting WebP to PNG lose quality?
No pixels are thrown away in this step. PNG is lossless, so the PNG holds exactly what the decoded WebP contained. What it cannot do is undo compression the WebP already applied — if the source was a lossy WebP, those details are gone before conversion starts.
Will transparency be kept?
Yes. Alpha in the source WebP is preserved in the PNG, and nothing is painted behind it. The preview shows a checkerboard where the image is transparent.
Why is my PNG bigger than the WebP?
WebP was designed to make small files; PNG was designed to keep pixels exactly. A photo that is 300 KB as WebP can easily be several megabytes as PNG. That is expected. Use the image compressor afterwards if the size is a problem.
Can I convert an animated WebP?
The first frame is converted. PNG does not carry animation, so the motion is not preserved. Use the GIF maker if you need a moving image.
How many files can I convert at once?

Are my images uploaded anywhere?
