Upload a PDF where only JPG is accepted
Rental and job applications, school portals, marketplaces and profile pages often list JPG or JPEG as the only file type they take. Convert the PDF here and upload the page the form asks for: each page has its own download button, and its file name carries the page number, so page 2 of a 4-page lease.pdf is saved as lease-2-imagenow.jpg. When a form wants every page, download them all as a ZIP, unzip it and upload the JPGs in order.
How large each JPG will be
At Standard (150 DPI) a US Letter page becomes a 1275 × 1650 pixel JPG. A phone-scanned form came to about 240 KB, a page of typed text to about 340 KB and a page filled with a photo to about 500 KB. High (300 DPI) doubles the width and height, and the same pages grew to between 0.7 and 1.8 MB, so keep Standard for upload forms with a size cap and choose High for printing or zooming into small print. If a form wants a smaller file still, Compress image can fit the JPG to a size limit.
When PNG is the better choice
JPG is built for photographs, and it keeps pages with photos and scans several times smaller than PNG. Pages of typed text, forms and spreadsheets work the other way round: PNG keeps every letter crisp and often makes the smaller file, as with a typed page that came to about 130 KB as PNG against 340 KB as JPG. If the place you are sending the page to accepts PNG, convert those pages with PDF to PNG.
How to convert a PDF to JPG
- Select or drop your PDF. Every page is converted to JPG as soon as the file opens.
- Keep Standard (150 DPI) for screens and upload forms, or choose High (300 DPI) for printing and small print. The pages update automatically.
- Select a page to check the JPG at full size, and remove any pages you don’t need.
- Download the page you need with its download button, or every page at once with Download all (ZIP).
PDF to JPG questions
Is JPG the same as JPEG?
Yes. JPG and JPEG are two names for the same image format, and .jpg is the more common file extension. When a form asks for a JPEG, upload the .jpg files from this page.
How do I convert just one page of a PDF to JPG?
Add the PDF, then use the download button on the page you need once it has converted. Only that page is saved, named with its page number, so page 7 of a 12-page contract.pdf becomes contract-07-imagenow.jpg.
How do I get a JPG under an upload size limit?
Keep the resolution at Standard, which usually makes a Letter page a few hundred kilobytes. If the form sets a lower limit, such as 200 KB, open the JPG in Compress image, choose Fit a size limit and enter the number. To match a required width and height, use Resize image.
Will converting a PDF to JPG lose quality?
Each page is drawn from the PDF at the resolution you choose, so text and graphics come out as sharp as that resolution allows. Standard is clear on screens, and High keeps small print readable when you zoom in or print. JPG adds light compression that is invisible on photos but can leave faint marks around small text at close zoom, so for perfectly clean text and lines use PDF to PNG.
How do I turn a scanned PDF into a JPG?
Add it like any other PDF, and each scanned page becomes a JPG. A scan holds only the detail it was captured with, so Standard is usually enough; High makes bigger files and helps only when the scan itself is high resolution. If a page was scanned sideways, turn the JPG upright with Rotate & flip images.
Will my signature and filled-in fields show up in the JPG?
Yes. Each page is drawn the way a PDF reader shows it, so filled-in form fields, drawn or typed signatures, stamps and comments that appear on the page are all part of the JPG.
