Turn iPhone photos into a shareable PDF

iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC because it uses less space than JPEG — but most Windows PCs, Android phones, and older apps still cannot open a .heic file, so the form or the person you send it to often rejects it. Converting those photos to PDF makes them easier to print, attach to an application, archive, or send as one document in a fixed order.

How the PDF is built

Each file is decoded in your browser. The tool takes one still image, places it on a white background, re-encodes it as a high-quality JPEG, and adds it as one PDF page. Live Photo motion, depth information, and editable HDR data are not included.

What the PDF keeps from the photo

Very large images are scaled down. Each file must be 20 MB or smaller, and images over 40 megapixels cannot be processed. The generated page does not retain camera EXIF, location data, or other HEIC metadata.

Browser compatibility and privacy

Decoding, page layout, and PDF creation all happen on your device; your photos are not uploaded. Use a recent browser with enough free memory. A desktop browser is usually more reliable for a batch of high-resolution iPhone photos.

What are HEIC and HEIF files?

HEIF is an efficient image file format, and HEIC is the extension commonly used for HEIF photos encoded with HEVC. iPhones and iPads have used HEIC as a common camera format since iOS 11.

Why is my iPhone photo sideways in the PDF?

HEIC stores the camera angle as metadata, and not every browser decoder applies it, so a portrait shot can land in the PDF on its side. Rotate the file before you create the PDF and check the finished document before sending it.

Is HEIC to PDF conversion lossless?

No. The still image is flattened onto white and stored as a photo inside the PDF. A very large image is scaled down, so color, HDR range, or fine detail may differ slightly from the original.

What happens to Live Photos, Portrait mode, and HDR?

Only one still frame goes into the PDF. The Live Photo video, the depth data behind Portrait mode, and editable HDR information are all dropped, and the frame is placed on a white background. The photo on your iPhone is not changed.

Can I combine multiple HEIC/HEIF files into one PDF?

Yes. Add up to 20 HEIC/HEIF files, arrange them in any order, and create one PDF. Each file can be up to 20 MB.

Do my HEIC photos get uploaded?

No. Decoding HEIC, laying the photos out and writing the PDF all happen inside your browser, and nothing is sent to ImageNow. Camera-roll photos stay on the phone or computer you are using.

Does it work on Windows, where HEIC often will not open?

Yes. The decoder runs in the browser, so a Windows PC that cannot preview HEIC in File Explorer can still turn those photos into a PDF here. It also works on macOS, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android.
