Make HEIC photos easier to open and share
Apple uses HEIC, its version of the HEIF standard, for space-efficient photos on iPhone and iPad. Some websites, older apps, and Windows setups still cannot open these files without an extra codec. JPG works almost everywhere, making it a practical format for sharing, uploading, printing, and editing.
What the JPG keeps—and what it leaves out
ImageNow converts the first still image returned by the HEIC decoder and keeps its decoded pixel dimensions. It creates a standard 8-bit JPG at high quality, and transparency is flattened onto white. EXIF and location metadata, HDR gain data, depth maps, auxiliary images, image sequences, and a paired Live Photo video are not copied.
What to expect from the converted photo
JPG uses lossy compression, and HEIC is often more space-efficient, so the JPG may be larger than the original even at high quality. You can add up to 100 files of 100 MB each. Files are processed one at a time to reduce memory spikes, but very large or high-resolution photos can still exceed the memory available to your browser or device.

Frequently asked questions
Are HEIC and HEIF both supported?
Yes. You can add files with .heic or .heif extensions. The converter turns the first still image the decoder can read into a JPG.
Does converting a Live Photo keep the video?
No. JPG is a still-image format. ImageNow converts only the first decoded still and does not preserve the paired Live Photo video, other images in a sequence, depth data, or HDR gain data.
Does the JPG keep HEIC metadata?
No. The JPG keeps the decoded still image and its pixel dimensions, but it does not copy EXIF, GPS location, camera details, or other HEIC container metadata.
Will HEIC to JPG reduce photo quality?
JPG is lossy, so the conversion is not lossless. ImageNow uses high JPEG quality to limit visible artifacts, but it cannot recover detail or HDR information that is not present in the decoded still image.
Does converting change the photo on my iPhone?
No. The original HEIC in your camera roll is untouched — the JPG is a new file created in your browser and saved to wherever you download it.
Can I convert several HEIC photos at once?
